Auburn boys win Oregon Open

OREGON – The Auburn Knights boys cross country team won the Oregon Open Saturday by having all five of their runners finish in the top 25.

Peter Maculan was second overall with a time of 16:50, while Jonah Garcia was fourth coming in at 16:55.

Aaron Tatman finished 18th, Jacob Melvin 21st and Ryan Sweeney was 25th.

Auburn had a team score of 70, easily topping the Illinois Math & Science Academy, which was next with 120.

NIC-10 foes Belvidere and Boylan also were in the race.

On the girls side, Isabelle Roethle took eighth place in a race that drew 26 teams.
