Summer showcase tournament opens up to more states

ROCKFORD – With coronavirus cases dropping rapidly as vaccination rates rise, the NCAA has opened up the number of states that can have teams play in the second Chicagoland Summer Showcase.

The June 25-27 event now is open to teams from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nebraska, Missouri and Ohio high schools. Rockford hosted two Showcases in 2019 and it drew more than 80 schools over back-to-back weekends.

Schools are guaranteed four games. The event is part of the NCAA live period in June where coaches can recruit players.
