Seigel powers Auburn to 10th in IHSA bowling tournament

O’FALLON – The Auburn Knights finished 10th in the IHSA state boys bowling tournament Saturday, powered by senior Matt Seigel’s 11th place finish.

Both accomplishments made Auburn history.

Friday and Saturday marked the third time in Auburn history that the boys team made it to state and the first time they finished in the top 10.

And Seigel, who scored recorded a 2,629 over 12 games – a 219 average, was the first Knight to ever finish in the top 12 individually.

The Knights are well set up for return visits. Five Knights finished in the top 72 and three will return next year.
