RPS soccer teams go 4-0 Tuesday

The four Rockford Public Schools boys soccer teams combined to score 11 goals and give up just three in going 4-0 Tuesday night.

East improved to 5-1 with a 3-1 win over Belvidere. The E-Rabs’ lone loss was to Hononegah during spring break when it was missing a couple of key players.

Jefferson is a 1/2-game back of East in third place after beating Freeport to move to 4-1. Angel Quesada led again with two goals and now has eight on the season.

Guilford knocked off Hononegah to improve to 4-2 and face the J-Hawks on Thursday in a bid to move back into the top three in the conference. The Vikings are the defending conference champions but dropped a pair of 1-0 games to Boylan and East to begin the year.

Auburn moved back to .500 with a 2-1 win over Harlem. The Knights trailed after the first 40 minutes but got goals from Moses Rodriguez and Walid Shaibi to improve to 3-3 for the year.
