RPS players dominate Rock River Valley boys all-star team

ROCKFORD – Four Rockford Public Schools seniors were named to the 12-player Rock River Valley all-star boys basketball team by the Rockford Register Star.

East won the NIC-10 championship in the Covid-19-abbreviated season with a 12-1 record. It’s two leading scorers, Pashens Harris and NIC-10 MVP Makarious Luster, were named to the squad.

Luster was second in the conference in scoring at 15.1 points per game, fourth in rebounding (6.2), and third in steals (3.3). Harris was fifth in the conference in scoring (13.4).

Jefferson led the NIC-10 much of the season and finished 10-3 in conference play and 10-5 overall after injuries illnesses took a toll in the last two weeks. The J-Hawks had two seniors make the team in Latrell Graham and Antonio Leavy.

Leavy led the NIC-10 in scoring (15.6), rebounding (12.8) and blocked shots (1.5). Graham was ninth in scoring (11.8) and seventh in assists (2.6).
