RPS has 16 boys looking to make IHSA state cross country

ROCKTON – The Auburn and Guilford boys cross country teams took third and fourth in last weekend’s Hononegah Class 3A boys cross country regional.

The Knights were led by Jonah Garcia and Peter Maculan, who both finished in the top 10. For Guilford, it was its depth that led the way. The Vikings had no runners in the top 20 but placed six in the top 30.

Both of those teams will be shooting for state meet berths at this weekend’s sectional meet.

The Knights and Vikings will be joined by Miles Lang and Leonard Curtis of East, who advanced as individuals.
