Rockford Co-Op on top once again

Katelyn Sayyalinh won the NIC-10 girls golf championship this past Friday. This photo is from WIFR. The Rockford Co-Op team won the conference for the fourth time in the past five years.

ROCKFORD – The Rockford Co-Op girls golf team dominated the NIC-10 tournament behind the strong play of Katelyn and Kayla Sayyalinh.

Katelyn Sayyalinh shot a 74 and won the individual golf title in a three-way playoff. Kayla finished a shot out of the playoff.

The NIC-10 individual title was a long time coming for Katelyn. She finished third in the conference in 2016, second in 2017 and third again in 2018.

Anna Doherty’s solid 91 helped Rockford to shoot a 344, easily outdistancing Boylan, which was second with a team score of 400.

Rockford has won four of the the past five conference titles.
