Huang, Stroup win NIC-10 swimming titles for Guilford

ROCKFORD – Treighton Huang and Jake Stroup powered the Guilford Vikings to second place in the NIC-10 swim meet Saturday at Jefferson.

Huang, a senior, won the 100-yard breaststroke and took third in the 200 individual medley. It was the second year in a row that Huang won the breaststroke title.

Stroup, a junior, won the 50 freestyle and took third in the 100 freestyle. Stroup was third in the 50 free in 2018.

Guilford junior Konner Gorak swam to a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle and senior Ian Burley was third in the 500 freestyle. Guilford took second places in both the 200-yard medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.

Zane Edleman was the top performer for Auburn. The junior finished second in the 100 backstroke. The top finish for East came from sophomore Nolan Taylor, who was fifth in the 500 freestyle.

Boys swimming heads to regionals next weekend.
