Guilford soccer star dives into IT in Boston area

Mary Usedom, one of Guilford’s top girls soccer players of the 2000s, now is a customer support analyst for an information technology company in the Boston area.

Usedom was a first team All-NIC-9 midfielder for Guilford in 2007 and 2008 as a sophomore and junior. Her senior year, instead of playing for Guilford, Mary graduated in December and enrolled at Northern Illinois University to play Division 1 soccer.

She played for the Huskies for two seasons before transferring to the Univerity of Illinois where she played club soccer and earned her bachelor’s degree in integrative biology.

Mary worked as marketing director for two years in Chicago before joining Device42 in Westhaven, Connecticut. Mary is a customer support analyst for the company, which makes automated IT asset management software.
