Four RPS players named to Rock River Valley girls basketball team

The four Rockford Public Schools basketball teams had their combined best record since 1990-1991 and it earned four players places on the Rockford Register Star’s Rock River Valley All-Star team.

Better yet, three of the four named will be back next season.

Camron Blank and Karley Colson were named to the team after leading the J-Hawks to their first winning season since 2003 at 7-6. Colson was second in the conference in scoring (17.1 points per game) and first in assists (5.6). Blank was third in scoring (15.8) and second in rebounding (11.4).

Brooklyn Gray was named to the team for the second straight year after leading the NIC-10 in scoring at 18.6 points per game and powering the Knights to a 9-4 record.

Sydney Donaldson of Guilford also made the team after averaging 13.7 points per game as a sophomore and leading the Vikings to a 10-3 conference record.

Blank is the only senior in the bunch. She will be playing for Rock Valley College in the fall.
