Former Guilford tennis player making her mark in design

Liz McGrail, a former Guilford tennis star, was promoted to senior digital designer at Dyson in Chicago.

Dyson designs and manufactures household appliances such as vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, hand dryers, bladeless fans, heathers and hair dryers and employs more than 12,000 worldwide. Liz works at the company’s U.S. headquarters.

Liz had an outstanding tennis career at Guilford. She was the runnerup in No. 1 singles in 2008. In 2009, Liz teamed up with Nicole Beck to win the NIC-10 No. 1 doubles title. And in 2010, she won the No. 2 singles title. She qualified for the IHSA state tennis tournament in singles and doubles all three years. She played her senior year at Big Foot High School in Walworth, Wis.

Liz then went to the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York where she played on the tennis team her first two years and earned her way into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

After earning her degree in 2016, she joined Res Publica Group in Chicago as a graphic designer. She joined Dyson in June of 2018 as a digital designer.
