Sincere Parker, who helped East High School win its first NIC-10 basketball title in 38 years back in 2018-2019, is showing off the same talents in his first year of junior college basketball.

Parker is playing for Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, Missouri. It’s a Division I JUCO program that attracts players from all over the country. Parker’s teammates include players from New York, Chicago, Tennessee, Texas, Canada, Kentucky and California.

Parker is averaging 16.2 points per game. He’s played in 12 of MACC’s 19 games, starting nine. Parker set East’s all-time single season three-point shooting record, and he’s shooting a stellar 43.2% from the three-point line this season.

On March 1, Parker played against former Auburn-Jefferson star Terry Ford, who is a sophomore guard at D1 JUCO power Mineral Area Community College in Park Hills, Missouri.

Mineral Area is a perfect 17-0 and ranked No. 2 in the country in the most recent rankings. Ford, who led Jefferson to a share of the NIC-10 title in 2017-2018, has played in 16 games, starting seven. He’s averaging 6.5 points per game, 2 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

On March 1, Parker won the individual battle for Moberly with 17 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots, but Mineral Point won the game, 78-69. Ford contributed 10 points in the game.

Parker’s East teammate in 2018-2019, Chris Burnell, who graduated as East’s all-time leader in points and assists, is having a solid season for Kirkwood Community College in Iowa City.

Burnell has started 16 of Kirkwood’s 18 games and is averaging 8.9 points per game, 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. Kirkwood is coached by former Rock Valley College coach Tim Sandquist.
