College runners win 2.05 Run

A pair of college athletes home for Memorial Day weekend were the top runners in the eighth annual RPS 2.05 Run to benefit Rockford Public Schools athletics.

Tristan Olpin of Rockford, a cross country runner for Emory University in Atlanta, ran the course in 10:23.5 to win the overall race by more than a minute over Rockford East runner Miles Lang.

Madison Diercks of Belvidere, who is a college basketball player at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, was the top female finisher. Diercks was fourth overall with a time of 12:46.4.

Nearly 200 runners participated in the race, both virtually and on a sunny road course.

Top female overall: Madison Diercks, 12:46.4.
Top male 10 and under: H. Jakeway, 16:44.3.
Top female 10 and under: A. Finnestad, 18:26.6.
Top male 11 to 20: Miles Lang, 11:29.8.
Top female 11 to 20: Hanna Holmes, 15:15.2.
Top male 21 to 30: Max Medlock, 16:17.2.
Top female 21 to 30: Julia Graceffa, 17:33.4.
Top male 31 to 40: Shawn Williams, 11:51.7.
Top female 31 to 40: Tracy Nelson, 14:58.8.
Top male 41 to 50: Nicholas Nelson, 13:09.0.
Top female 41 to 50: Angie Damin, 15:14.9.
Top male 51 to 60: Harry Fubus, 15:22.8.
Top female 51 to 60: Cynthia Perkins, 17:37.8.
Top male 61 and over: Gregory Chandler, 15:18.1.
Top female 61 and over: Mary Groves, 19:46.9.
