Chicagoland Summer Showcase tips off tonight

ROCKFORD – The Chicagoland Summer Showcase, featuring 52 varsity basketball teams from six states starts tonight at 5:30 p.m. at UW Health Sports Factory.

The tournament is an NCAA live event, allowing college basketball coaches of all levels to watch and interact with the next generation of talent. 

The local teams include Hononegah, Harlem, Lutheran, Belvidere, Belvidere North, Freeport, Boylan Catholic, South Beloit and our four Rockford public schools, Auburn, East, Guilford and Jefferson.

From the Chicago area, Thornton, Thornwood and University High Chicago are among the entries.

De Smet Jesuit, Hazelwood Central, Link Academy and Vashon are coming from Missouri. The Michigan teams Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, Grand Blanc, Ferndale and Brother Rice.

Limar Senior, Princeton, Shaker Heights, and Woodward are making the trip from Ohio. 

Wisconsin’s strong contingent is made up of Madison East, Madison LaFollette, Neenah and Sheboygan Lutheran.
