Champions Ball to return on Feb. 26!

Rockford Public Schools will bring back the Champions Ball and Hall of Fame – after a one-year coronavirus hiatus – on Feb. 26 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center beginning at 5 p.m.

This will be the ninth Champions Ball event. It highlights the best and brightest athletes, coaches and contributors from District 205’s storied past. This year’s honorees were selected in 2020. They are East baseball star Rodney Myers, Auburn basketball scoring machine Jametta Bland, Ralph “Moon” Baker, a Rockford High School football star from the 1920s, West and Guilford football coach Tom Schwalbach, and volunteer Dan Miller, who built up the REBA program. The Guilford soccer dynasty of 2002-2004 is being inducted as the team honoree.

The event is a fundraiser for the Rockford Sports Coalition, which supports the middle school and high school athletics programs. Tickets are $50 each or you can buy a table of eight for $400.
