Auburn’s Nevenhoven leads large RPS group in IHSA tennis

The IHSA 2A girls tennis tournament kicks off this morning and seven RPS 205 players are looking to make their mark.

Three-time NIC-10 champion Belen Nevenhoven opens her tournament against Sara Jankovic of Roselle Lake Park. Nevenhoven is looking to win the first IHSA girls tennis title in NIC-10 history.

The other players playing today are:

  • Phuong Pham of Auburn, who takes on Basma Raja of Oak Park River Forest.
  • Kasey Aucutt of Guilford, who plays Nicole Hu of Hinsdale Central.
  • Cristina Gelabert of Guilford, who takes on Emaira Saini of St. Charles East.
  • Madeline Harned and Alyssa Trapp of Auburn, who play a doubles team from Homewood-Flossmoor.
  • Paris Thompson and Amy Park of Auburn, who play a Glenbrook South team.
