Auburn takes 8th in national scholastic bowl tournament

ATLANTA – Auburn High School’s scholastic bowl team tied for eighth place in a national competition this past weekend at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

The team of Ethan Strombeck, Justin Abel, Leif Verace and Lilly Chavez went 12-4 overall to tie with Arcadia of California, Montgomery of Maryland and LASA of Austin, Texas. The Knights scored 7,430 points in the 16 matches, which was the sixth most overall.

A team from Beavercreek, Ohio, was the overall winner.
