Auburn soccer star signs with Robert Morris University

ROCKFORD – Gabrielle Christidis, a three-time all-NIC-10 soccer player for the Auburn Knights, signed a letter of intent Monday to play for Robert Morris University Illinois in 2019-2020.

The Chicago-based college is a NAIA school that plays in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Eagles were 7-7-3 overall this past season and the roster included Harlem defender Delaney Anderson and Hononegah goal keeper Alyssa Darling.

In Christidis, the Eagles are getting one of the area’s top players. The 5-4 midfielder was IHSSCA All-Sectional in 2018 and Auburn’s team captain since her freshman year. In club soccer, Christidis is a MRL 1st Division player and made it to the semifinals of the Illinois State Cup.

Christidis, a senior, carries a 3.1 GPA at Auburn.
