1971 Baseball

In any mythical NIC-10 baseball tournament, Rockford West’s 1971 state semifinal team would be a definite contender. The team boasted three first-team all-conference players, one second-team all-conference player and five honorable mentions. Two of West’s stars were drafted that June. Outfielder George Feeley was taken in the 6th round by the Kansas City Royals and ace pitcher Dan Domski, who went 8-0 in conference play with 93 strikeouts in 51 innings was taken in the 31st round by the Washington Senators.
